§ 152.003. PURPOSE.

  • This chapter is adopted for the following purposes:
    (A) To protect and provide for the public health, safety and general welfare of the county;
    (B) To guide the future development of the county in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan and any related policies;
    (C) To provide for the safety, comfort and soundness of the built environment and related open spaces;
    (D) To protect the compatibility, character, economic stability and orderliness of all development through reasonable design standards;
    (E) To insure that adequate public facilities will be provided in conjunction with new development;
    (F) To supply proper land boundary records:
    (1) To provide for the survey, documentation and permanent monumentation of land boundaries of property;
    (2) To provide for identification of property; and
    (3) To provide public access to land boundary records.
    (G) To establish a procedure for the vacation of platted areas, public ways and platted easements.
