§ 110.090. INSPECTION FEES FOR MOTOR VEHICLES, SEMI-TRAILERS AND RECREATIONAL VEHICLES.

  • (A) The Cass County Sheriffs Department is authorized to inspect motor vehicles, semi-trailers or recreational vehicles as set out in I.C. 9-17-2-12(c)(3).
    (B) An inspection fee shall be charged for each inspection made of the vehicle or semi-trailer as follows:
    (1) Three dollars when the inspection is conducted at the Cass County Government Building parking lot; or
    (2) Five dollars when the inspection is done at any other location other than the Cass County Government Building parking lot.
    (C) (1) The fees shall be paid either by check or money order. Checks or money orders are to be made payable to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department and deposited in the Special Vehicle Inspection Fund. No cash shall be accepted.
    (2) Each person requesting the inspection shall be informed of the method of payment of the inspection fee prior to the inspection.
    (3) The check or money order shall be deposited to the Dispatcher or Records Clerk, Sheriff’s Department, at the end of each shift and the receipt of the fees properly recorded as received by the Dispatcher/Records Clerk.

    (D) The fees shall be deposited in the Special Vehicle Inspection Fund set forth in § 34.08.
